Inculcate the habit of saving in your children by getting them an uber cool and stylish piggy bank or what we adults calls a money box. Vitamin does great money boxes and all of them are quirkily designed and have a great fun vibe to them.

What are the costs, pitfalls, realistic expectations? How does one go about starting it? Can you make money the first year? Mind you, this would be a very small shop not needing a lot of space. I always wondered how people pay their rent for the store because it never seems the sales can cover it. Any advice (serious only please) would be greatly appreciated.

What investment would give the very best bang for the buck when it comes to home improvement?
I only have $1000, but (as a gift) I really want to spend it on my parents’ house. Where should I spend the money to get the best return on investment?
The house is livable, but getting old and everything about it (except the frame/foundation/roof) could use improvement.
We are in central Ohio, in case that makes a difference.

Most homes are too wide and the modernist homes are nice but too expensive. I only need windows on the front and the back. I do not need a garage, but I do need a drive. I have front and back street access and it needs to be built on piers. I would like 2 bedrooms with 1 or 2 baths and an open floor plan with the living and kitchen areas. It should be 1,000 sq ft or under and a very simple inexpensive design. I feel like I have few options because I want to keep the cost down and no one makes money that way. I only need maybe 2 interior doors at the most and I would like my closets to have rolling barn style panels. I do not want a pitched roof but I do want a lean to style roof, so the living room seems vaulted but I can put the duct work above the ceiling in the bedrooms. I want the bedroom and baths on one side, with a porch and living space on the otherside possibly wrapping around the back. It does not seem that this should be so complicated. Help where can I get a design cheap.
